April Favourites

Hello Beauties

It's time for my April Favourites! (How fast is this year going?!)
I've been using a lot of new stuff this month and having been loving a lot of it.

First up is The Wet Brush (£9.95). If you've read my Haircare Routine post, then you will know that I love the Tangle Teezer for brushing through my hair with no tugging or pulling. I've seen a lot of reviews on the Wet Brush and wanted to see what all the fuss was about. I can't lie, this past month, I have not touched my tangle teezer once. The Wet Brush is fantastic for getting all the tangles and knots out of my hair with no pain. I plan to do a comparison of the 2 brushes soon.

Next on the hair products is the Tresemme Make Waves spray (£5.99). This is like a primer for your hair before curling and setting spray as well. I spray a light mist of this on my hair before curling and again after I'm done styling and my curls have, literally, never lasted so long. I can easily go up to 3 days with the same curls although they would have loosened quite a bit by then, but definitely still have a wave to them which I do like.

Next is the Bourjois CC Cream (£9.99). This is such a great, light, everyday base. It has just the right amount of coverage for the days when I don't feel like wearing foundation and makes my skin look healthy. I was quite surprised to find this product from the drugstore as I can't usually find bases that match my skin tone, but if you are an NC42/Syracuse girl, then this shade is perfect (53/Rose Beige).

Along with the CC Cream, I have been loving the Bourjois Healthy Balance Powder (£8.99), which I mentioned in my Huge Beauty Haul. The update on this, is that it is a lovely, light powder for drier skin types. I don't find it leaves my face looking cakey or too matte, but provides a great set to my base. I got this in the shade Deep Beige, which is great for my skin tone.

Also in my Huge Beauty Haul, I mentioned that I was on the hunt for a good drugstore concealer and picked up the Revlon Colorstay Concealer in the shade Medium Beige. As you can guess, I have been really enjoying this concealer. It's a great under eye concealer. It's creamy, but I don't find it too thick and it covers my dark circles very well. It stays put through the day and I don't find that it creases too much either. The main problem I found with the drugstore concealers was the colour range, but I think this one is working out very well for me.

Last month, I was using a lot of 2 blushes. I like wearing them alone and also like to blend them together on the cheeks. The first blush is MAC Gingerly (£18.99). This is a lovely toffee/caramel colour that works well as a neutral-toned blush on my skintone and is great for the days where I want a more natural look. the second blush is Maxfactor Creme Puff Blush (£8.99) in Seductive Pink. The formula of these blushes is lovely; they give a nice colour to the cheeks along with a highlight. I love wearing this blush alone for a subtle pink colour and glow, but I love mixing it with Gingerly for added dimension on the cheeks.

The last beauty item on the list is The Body Shop hand cream (£3.50) in the Mango scent. I posted about this on Instagram a few weeks ago. It is the NICEST smelling hand cream I have ever owned and has got me applying hand cream a lot more during the day. It's a thick cream so you don't need to use a lot at once and leaves the hands nicely moisturised and smelling divine.

For the past 2 months I have been mentioning Years & Years in my music favourites, so I thought I'd switch it up a bit this month. The first artist I have been loving is Shawn Mendes. He's from Canada and I have been loving songs from his album; listening to them non-stop. The next artist is Sinead Harnett. She's one I have liked for a while but she has just released a new song called She Ain't Me which has made me love her music all over again. For some reason, I've also been listening to a lot of Mariah Carey and Craig David this month (old school faves). I don't really have any other non-beauty favourites this month, but I'm excited and ready for May :)

What products were you loving in April, I'd love to know.

Thank you for reading
Nikita x
