Current Lip Faves

Hello Beauties!

I thought I'd bring today, some of the lip products that I have been loving for the past couple of weeks. If you have read some of my other posts then you will see that I have mentioned that I have been loving wearing lip liners alone, or matte colours on my lips. As much as this is still true, I recently went on a quick trip to Kenya and since coming back, my skin and lips have become extremely dry. For this reason, I have been avoiding matte colours and drying products as much as possible.

I have been wearing lip balm underneath everything lately for extra hydration. The one I have been using is Nuxe Reve de Miel Lip Balm. This lip balm is an OMG product for me! It is the BEST lip balm I have ever tried! I own quite a few different lip balms, as I keep failing to find one that really works and now I think I have my answer. This lip balm has been healing my dry, cracked lips like no other recently. I first tried it in a Space NK store, recommended by the store assistant and was she right or what?! It claims to restore comfort to chapped lips and so far I would agree with that claim very much. It's a thick balm but sinks in to the lips straight away. I find it smells a little bit like Terry's Orange Chocolate, which I actually dislike a lot, but for the way it makes my lips feel, I have let that slide.

For some colour, there are a few products that I have been using, that I think are great for drier lips. I have to admit that these are all nude-ish colours, but that's just because it's the look I've been going for. All the products come in a good shade range. They are, L'Oreal Glam Shine Balmy Gloss in Sin for Peach, Revlon ColourBurst Lip Butter in Brown Sugar, Bourjois ColourBoost Lip Crayon in Proudly Naked and Nars Satin Lip Pencil in Bansar.

All of these products are of a similar formula; the gloss-balm-lipstick hybrid which makes them feel really nice on the lips. They are not drying and don't highlight the dryness in lips. The only downside to this though, is that they don't last very long on the lips either. If, like me, you are constantly drinking/eating throughout the day, then you will, most likely, find yourself reapplying these a few times. I don't mind this too much and the main reason for this, is that they're all very easy to apply. I rarely find myself needing the use of a mirror to apply these, which is why I've been drawn to the more neutral colours in these ranges. I like to wear a different one everyday and keep the one I'm wearing on my desk at work for reapplication whenever I feel the need. The Revlon and Nars are both brown shades and the Bourjois a light pink. They give a hint of colour and balm/gloss sheen to the lips and hide the fact that they are dry and chapped very well.

Have you tried, or thought about trying, any of these? Would love to know your thoughts

  3. I haven't thought about using these but I like that they only have just a hint of color. It's nice for an everyday feel.

    1. They are all lovely for that. They're great if you don't feel comfortable wearing a lot of colour on your lips everyday. The L'oreal Glossy Balm crayons are also a good option to try x
